Motorcycle Insurance

To register and operate a motorcycle in Ohio, you must carry insurance. You are required to provide proof of this insurance when you register your bike, as well as if you are stopped by law enforcement or if you are in an accident. The minimum insurance for a motorcycle in Ohio is the same as for a car:

  • $25,000 for injury or death of one person
  • $50,000 for injury or death of two or more people
  • $25,000 for property damage in an accident

This liability insurance for your motorcycle protects you if you are at fault in an accident. Otherwise, you’d have to pay for the other party’s medical bills and property damage from your own pocket, which most folks find prohibitively expensive.

Consider Additional Coverage for Better Protection

You can add other types of coverage to your motorcycle insurance policy, which we usually recommend for our clients in Zanesville. The coverage above is only liability protection, and it only applies to other motorists or pedestrians; it doesn’t cover you, your bike, or a passenger if you are at fault in an accident.

Therefore, we suggest adding:

  • Medical coverage for you and your passenger
  • Uninsured motorist protection (if someone else is at fault in an accident but they are not properly insured)
  • Custom parts and equipment insurance, especially if you have an expensive or vintage motorcycle)
  • Roadside assistance for help should you find yourself stranded

Our Independent Agents Have a Wide Selection of Motorcycle Insurance Products

Big insurance companies only offer you their own products, which gives you limited options when it comes to coverage and budget. However, the independent agents at Jared Reynolds Insurance have a much larger menu of products available, including Voom insurance, so we can tailor motorcycle insurance specific to your needs.
